Stand Up Against Racism as national day in UK

Police is still on high alert amid concerns of unrest this weekend too.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region (Kurdistan 24) – After two weeks of unrest, violent disorder and high alert, the UK Government took all the necessary measurements by holding urgent and 3 COBRA meetings with all the relevant departments for example, police forces, Home Office, National Security departments, Online Safety Services as well prosecution boards were called in to take legal actions swiftly. 

It is decided by many UK’s well-recognized organizations to arrange a peaceful demonstration to show solidarity to migrants and Muslims’ community as well as other communities for example Jewish and European foreigners.

The national day motto will be Stand Up Against Racism on August 10th, 2024.

For the second weekend, the UK Government and police service announced “high alert”. The Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Sir Mark Rowley, former Chief Inspector, Sir Thomas Winsor and many more experts revealed to the British media “very advanced technology and technics will be used, identifying individuals who commit offences including the face-covering rioters will get identified” No further details were given regarding that.

 So far, more than 500 arrests, and 150 prosecuted and charges took place. 

The government deployed more than 6000 army police officers, who are specialists, to provide extra support to the police service. Their duty is to keep the communities and cities safe.

Those forces, across the country, are still operating, and are on high alert this weekend too.

The UK King and Prime Minister praised the united community spirit, countering the riots, far-right anti-migrants and violent disorder.
